Aka-manah اُکوانْ دیو The story of Ekvan Dev is mentioned in the Shahnameh as follows: During the time of Ki Khosro, an animal appeared and took the form of a yellow zebra with a black stripe from mane to tail and attacked the king's herd of horses and killed his horses. Kikhusro realizes that this animal cannot be a zebra because a zebra is not stronger than a horse. There, he realizes that this animal is the demon Ekvan, who is terrified of the grave.
