一心一意 Wholehearted (Effortless) offers an opportunity to lose one’s self in a beautifully sublime and transcendent experience. Peering deep within the structures of impossible digital sculptures begets a hypnotic landscape that draws in our eyes and soothes our hyperconnected, multitasking mind. Awash in red rose pixels, the petals, ventricles, and vortices transport the viewer into a heightened state of awareness. Dissolving into such a dreamscape of kinesthetic pleasure allows the objective and subjective to flow into each other, intermingling and bubbling up into a frothy, bloody, visceral mixture. To be wholehearted involves summoning together not just the familiar beating engine of our life force, but also the supporting guts and gore we rely upon to sustain our heart and spirit. From this vibrant garden grows the stride, the gait, by which we glide through these uncertain times. By channeling the awe and wonderment, by focusing on the sublime, we may glimpse that daemon named, Effortless. Because when we have breached the doors of a state of true wholeheartedness, they may be thrown wide open by the universal creative force as the muse rushes forth with her ensemble to lift up the wholehearted spirit upon their shoulders. Thus does the certainty of right action, of practical precision, translate to the whooshing movement of soaring, spirited away, towards one’s goals. It is this sense of wholehearted commitment and accompanying seraphic support which I hope to let my audience glimpse in 一心一意 Wholehearted (Effortless). Nick Teeple Hong Kong 2022
