Friendship saves | Roman Minin (Bastille Day edition, July 14 2023) Original painting: 2010, canvas, acrylic, enamel, 60x80 cm "Friendship Saves" is a painting by Roman Minin, which belongs to his famous cycle of works called "Miner's Folklore". Growing up in Donbass, where his father and uncles worked as hereditary miners, Minin has first-hand knowledge of the Donetsk mining theme. Using his art as a medium, Minin was one of the first artists to address the pains and issues of the mining region. As he developed "Miner's Folklore", he also worked on a prophetic project called "Escape Plan from Donetsk Region", which premiered at the Kharkiv Municipal Gallery in 2010. This series of works belongs to Minin's pre-media era, during which he primarily painted. Since then, the artist has explored other mediums, including photos, SMS art, 3D objects, VR, and crypto art.
