To look in on cozy scenes as I walk the streets alone with my camera. I often go out when it's raining, the streets transform and become awash with colour, and it's no secret that I am heavily influenced by the Blade Runner movies. This scene was captured in Songdo, South Korea, during the monsoon season. This beautiful Japanese restaurant was to the right of me as I was actually in the location to shoot a bridge. The voices from the restaurant drifted out of the open window and I turned to see this beautiful scene; as I stood there longer I started to smell the food too. This image is very special to me, it takes me right back to looking in on that scene, despite being just outside of the restaurant it felt like another world was going on in that small room and that I didn't have access to it in some way, I was merely a spectator. The warmth of this restaurant, the smells, the sounds, it was such a different environment to the one I was in, drenched through to the bone - but that's what makes this one very special for me, and that is why I have named it 'Sheltered'.
