Multi-disciplinary digital artist Wu Ziyang’s works are “born-digital—they fit perfectly into the NFT space.”
In ‘Screen Body—Times Square Dancing’ Wu presents a large group of virtual bodies dancing and celebrating in New York’s Times Square, with billboards and screens showing close-up videos of body parts. The work juxtaposes two types of bodies that are becoming more and more ubiquitous in our daily lives: (Fragmented) real bodies on physical screens and virtual bodies in human form with screen-like, reflective textures. The work hints at the virtual world’s increasing influence, both on a macro and micro scale, in our highly globalized and digitized society, as well as domination and survival in the Web 3.0 era.
