Artist: Mamahasgotcrypto Title: "Jenny" The Story: Jenny was a friend, an independent woman with a very curious nature for world cultures, music and arts ; and a hippy, generous heart, working with children all her life. She was very active , swimming 3 times a week, doing yoga and keeping herself busy with travelling and going to world cinema and events, at 80years old. The tragic loss of her nephew and the pandemic closures had taken a heavy toll on her mental health, resulting in dementia and depression. She decided to stop the sufferance by taking her own life. The hands represent the relief I managed to give for just a day at least, through a reiki session, to her agitated spirit. That day Jen fell asleep in my arms. It was a beautiful moment that now I take as our last goodbye. The artwork is a result of the emotional weeks after receiving the news of her death, it is a grief-phases open book, a colourful goodbye, a memorial tribute to her love for the purple colour, to her explosive personality, and the tears that couldn’t come down while alive.
