"Cupped hands holding a pink ribbon The cover I chose to paint is the October 2021 issue that showed cupped hands holding a pink ribbon. The magazine chose this photo, Bahrain This Month, to commemorate Breast Cancer Month which is held in October. Having an elder sister who is a Breast Cancer survivor made painting this cover an emotional endeavour. I am proud of my sister's bravery and patience while battling this illness. At the same time, I want breast cancer awareness to increase and women to obtain early diagnosis and treatment. Many breast cancer survivors also face emotional issues during and after treatment and require good support. This painting displayed in public encourages them to talk about these fears and help overcome them."
