The main inspiration for these illustrations is the balkan textiles motifs that were stitched as a code, exploring the fantasies of the anonymous artisans who made them and the ritual masks that are still used in rituals today. These traditions are almost a lost art, a language of signs and symbols from the mythical times – times when clothes facilitated a dialogue with the unseen forces of the cosmos.
