描述
Photographed in February 2016 in the River Dart in Devon, England, a woman swims, by choice, alone in icy cold waters in the rain.
She swims for connection and solitude. In summer the river can be walked across at this point. In winter the river is fast and deep, the rocks are tretuously dangerous. The swim is both dangerous and affirming.
The photograph speaks of ecological and environmental issues and female independence. It is at first a timeless image and yet thoroughly today.
