The Silver Melon Coins were issued in 1671 and are the second most valuable of the collection, after the Gold Melon Coins. Only 75 coins of this type have been found.
They show the figure of the King, which puzzles historians. The main theory to justify the appearance of the King on a pirate coin is the lack of dies to produce them. It is believed that a stolen mold, brought from England, was used for the manufacture.
