Carlos Monzon boxing.
On June 26, 1976, Carlos Monzón met the WBC world champion Rodrigo Valdés in a reunification fight of the belts, at the Louis-II stadium, in Monaco. Monzón won the fight by unanimous decision, after knocking down his opponent in the 14th round. This way, he regained the WBC belt. The rematch took place on July 30, 1977, where he was declared winner on points. He then ended his career. He will have defended the world title 14 times.
