描述
Gautama Buddha told the parable of two arrows. The first arrow of life that hits us is the arrow of objective suffering. We all regularly experience the suffering caused by life: we get sick, grow old, die, lose loved ones.
But there is also another arrow, the arrow of subjective suffering, which we launch into ourselves. It is made up entirely of our negative thoughts.
Thus, the inability to control thoughts leads to unnecessary suffering.
