An uneventful day early on turned into one of the best chase days of the year. The first storm of the day died off in the Palo Duro Canyon but the second storm north of Amarillo, Texas decided to shine. Lacking in low level ingredients, it never dropped a tornado, but it did trek across the landscape with insane beauty. It is amazing what the air we breathe can do! All storms look different because ingredients and wind flow varies by the day and the daily mystery fascinates me to the point where I will willingly drive hundreds of miles a day to catch a glimpse of storms and document them. Storms don't chase themselves!
