In my previous years of chasing, the initiating boundary for storms, a dryline, had always set up on the Texas side of the New Mexico/Texas border. This year was different and a week of storms popped up far west from that border. Locals in the towns we hung out at said our random presence was the best thing to ever happen! They were happy and we were happy to chase some incredible storms in open lands. This storm was yet again one of the most beautiful supercells I have ever witnessed! The wind turbines in the background are about 460 feet tall (177 meters) which helps scale this giant supercell, but it was unfathomably large and powerful. Sadly this storm did not produce a tornado (It got close!) and it fizzled out within minutes as it hit the edge of the Caprock Escarpment. An insane storm celebrated by many chasers who were nearby! I could not stop jumping up and down screaming because this was a moment I live for!
