AKBAR The Great
During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar
expanded the Mughal empire through much
of the Indian subcontinent.
He was fond of literature, and created a library
of over 24,000 volumes across many languages.
He was revered for unification of Indo-Persian
culture and promulgated Din-i-illahi which was
an ideology of acceptance and peace.
