**Ibuprofen** is a medication in the [nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory

(NSAID) class that is used for treating

includes [painful menstrual

also be used to close a [patent ductus
arteriosus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent_ductus_arteriosus) in a
