Along with four other Citizens, Nadine was subjected to multiple experiments conducted by Dr. Laputa in a secret project, which was originally designed to give Aurora Sapiens enhanced abilities and superpowers, but it was then abandoned after scientists failed to generate enough energy to power the final stage of the experiment, this failure resulted in Dr. Laputa being executed after news emerged that she helped Nadine flee away from the labs, with a jewel in her possession. The Yamamoto family believes that the blue jewel that belonged to Dr. Laputa was actually from Aetherium: A source of unlimited energy, and it can be used to activate Nadine's undiscovered quirks. It's the reason why she's being chased by the Elites forces.
