Illustration of Barack Obama during the last months of his 44th presidency as a tribute to the man I consider to easily be the best president of my lifetime. It is also the first illustration I decided to use a cross-hatching technique that I used many years ago during high school. I was curious if I could execute that specific technique digitally and I also feel that since it is such a timeless approach, it would give the illustration a look and feel that made it not look distinctly digital. I still feel this was one of the more successful implementations using that cross-hatching technique. If my memory serves me correctly it was the first illustration of mine Adobe chose to feature so it was awesome to have some validation that I had made the right decision.
Done on an iPad Pro using Adobe Illustrator Draw and an Apple Pencil.
