描述
The billboard art developed by Vhils was his very first medium. Known for his beginnings in painting on walls and trains and inspired by city landscapes, he decided to remove layers instead of adding them to the surfaces we pass by every day. Growing up, Vhils witnessed advertising billboards gradually erasing the urban paintings from the Portuguese revolution, replacing political statements with messages of capitalism. This served as his initial inspiration: collecting stacks of posters, painting them in white, and delicately carving them with a knife. Poetically, he revealed the soul of cities through portraits of their inhabitants.
