Variant Human 9th level War Cleric/6th level Way Of Mercy Monk The Reverend Doctor, Vindus Synn, was the smuggler hero of the peasant locals along the Mere Of Dead Men. As a war cleric of the Cult of Synn, he offered acts of violence as prayers in order to defend and uplift the wretched and the weary. He and his cohorts smuggled contraband by boat from the offshore islands to avoid the local sheriff’s high taxes, and there were often skirmishes between gangs of smugglers and the law. Pastor Vindus, with his quick wits, swift sword, and uncanny luck, was always one step ahead of the law. Until he wasn’t. Captured, tortured and imprisoned for over a decade he studied the monks ‘Way of Mercy’ behind bars. He learned to manipulate the life force of others to bring aid to those in need. He was a gentle-voiced healer and a bringer of macabre mercies and endeared himself to his fellow inmates preaching the gospel of Synn. Having won their loyalty he orchestrated a jailbreak, emptying the prison. An outlaw now, he and his rebel band of escapees wandered the land by night, a terror to the sheriff's henchmen. Word of his deeds spread and he was summoned by THE BLACK FEATHER. He alone seems unaffected by her charismatic charms, yet he agreed to administer to the health and spiritual needs of her followers, only if his fellow inmates were made welcome. Frustrated, but impressed, by her inability to completely bend him to her will, she chose Pastor Vindus Synn to be her First Lieutenant and chief advisor.
