This one was inspired partly by the spruce trees that i get to admire on my way to the gym. i tried to draw them without looking much for reference and more trying to transmit the feeling of my experience. Mainly I wanted to do a counter part to the Midwinter Rite, another hooded character, only older, wise and cunning. This would be dark a piece. The schemata or schemas are simplified constructions of the mind about reality and thats is what the trees and branches represent here, not quite realistic although they did take quite a long time to fashion before i was happy with them. The simplified shape of the hooded figure is also repeated in the trees, making the apparent connection to nature.
