This staircase is part of a former Soviet sanatorium in Georgia that I visited in 2018 as part of my project on Soviet legacies. I walked down these very stairs just before this picture was taken. When I wanted to examine the condition, I had two inspirations: I won't walk down these stairs again and what great shapes and colours. So I was doubly lucky and one of my favourite pictures of this trip came out.
