The new painting is a sequel to 'Holding on to Hope'. The passage of time can be cruel when hoping for something good to come. My latest painting, 'Fading Hope,' tells a tragic tale of waiting too long for good things to come. The palette is predominantly moody, has a black background, and the side profile of the skeleton (the main subject), is more pronounced for the viewer, having a smoke, while an hourglass timepiece, is wrapped across its forearm. By the lower right of the painting, there is a fading, dying hibiscus flower inserted, linking this to the previous portrait holding on to hope, where the subject in the previous painting held on to a vibrant hibiscus flower.
