After weeks of working, they did it. They were able to get a serum together that they think could reverse the zombie problem in the Apepes. Their laboratory was underground, hidden beneath a swamp with a clubhouse above it on the surface to act as a disguise. So they had an ingenious idea of how to get Apepe test subjects. They connected their labs underground tunnels through the swamp and to a bar/saloon. The scientists would wait and grab extremely drunk Apepes, and lure them or drug them and take them into their lab to run the first batch of tests. They grabbed some Apepes and all at once, injected them with the serum. It was too strong! They made a mistake. They knew almost instantly. That part of the lab was never the same after that.
