Around three hundred Apepes were inflicted with the mysterious disease. Sure they smelled, sure they were grumpy, sure they craved bizarre items for food and occasionally attempted to eat other Apepes, but they were still Apepes, deserving of good vibes and also mutual respect. The Kek-os scientists, however, weren't certain about how contagious the disease was or whether it could mutate into something far more horrible - they needed to find a cure, and fast.
