The 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is considered to be one of the greatest Porsche 911s of all time. Conceived, designed and produced to meet homologation requirements for the sub-3.0 liter GT racing class, the aerodynamic body is badged with the model name RS for the German term Rennsport (race sport). The debut of this lightened aerodynamic body enabled Porsche’s flat-six 2.7 liter engine to brilliantly compete against the powerful Ferrari Daytona twelve cylinder engines and the DeTomaso Pantera powered by Ford V-8s. The revised engine, brakes, suspension, distinctive rear spoiler, and flared fenders were just a few of the factory modifications that made this 911 RS a winner on the track. The addition of the Bürzel (German for “duck’s tail”) fiberglass rear deck lid, and the "Carrera" logo running full-length along the car's side sealed the deal for the GT customer. This ultimate 1970s 911 is as stylistically distinctive as a chord from Jim Hendrix's guitar. The paint colors for the 1973 model year perfectly reverberated the Zeitgeist of the early 1970s. “Ninety miles an hour is the speed I drive” was not only a rock and roll song lyric, but also the subliminal impression left by a sighting of this iconic road-race motorcar zipping along the roadway. Rock on! The CARMANIA RS Curves collection is comprised of sixteen different limited editions imagined in Porsche factory paint colors. Only a total of 1580 Carrera RS automobiles were manufactured. The total number of works in The RS Curves artwork collection (1580) matches the factory production numbers divided across the collection series of sixteen different editions. Fifteen editions contain 100 numbered works. The sixteenth edition, named RS Curves - LSD, contains only 80 numbered pieces bringing the total numbered editions to 1580 prints matching the Real World Asset (RWA) production numbers of the automobile. Presented for sale as either as physical art or an ERC 721 series, each work is sequentially numbered so that the edition total is strictly limited. The artwork is a composite of multiple photographs digitally painted by the artist.
