This bright fungi is considered a delicacy, with a flavor and aroma some say is similar to a peppery apricot. The Chanterelle is widespread in its habitat and often found growing in clusters in coniferous forests. When exposed to sunlight this fungi produces ergocalciferol, also known as vitamin D2.
