This artwork is a nostalgic tribute to my childhood memories. It depicts the radio that my mother brought from her hometown in the early 90s, a gift from her father. My parents would often listen to old songs on the radio, claiming that they sounded different from modern music. As a child, my mother would turn on the radio every night as we fell asleep, playing songs ranging from the 60s to the 00s. This experience had a profound impact on my taste in music and helped me develop my English language skills. Although I wasn't fluent in English at a young age, my mother's radio exposed me to the language, and I continued to learn and improve every day.
Unfortunately, in 2018, we had to sell my mother's beloved radio during a financial crisis. Although my mother was deeply saddened by the loss, we needed the money to survive. The radio was her father's only gift that she could still use, and it held significant sentimental value. Nonetheless, we had to prioritize our needs over sentimental items, as we all needed to eat that day. This artwork serves as a reminder of the power of music and the role it played in shaping my childhood memories.
