The story of Adam & Eve is about the fall of humanity from oneness. The Great Deceiver (the serpent) convinces them that knowledge of good and evil will make them like God. Thus by eating from the Tree Of Knowledge and learning of duality (good & evil) they experience separation and become lost in their flesh. They are hence cast out of – cut off from – Eden, oneness with God.
