As a New York based street photographer my favorite moments to capture with my lens are those in the shadows. These moments are looked over yet occur all around us and can only be seen if we are really paying attention. On this cold NYC rainy night there were stories hidden in the shadows in every corner I observed. This officer character in 'to lose is to win' , reminded me of myself. Always vigilant and present yet hidden in the scenery. To show yourself is to renounce your guard & be a force.
