This NFT depicts blossoms from yellow elder, the national of the Bahamas as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands. Yellow elder is native to the Bahama Islands and blooms throughout the year. It's found throughout the Caribbean and in warmer parts of the Americas, from Florida to Argentina. Its golden blossoms, which attract butterflies and hummingbirds, contrast with its bright green, wide-spreading foliage to create a showy plant.
The yellow elder came to be the Bahamas' national flower through the combined popular vote of members of all four of New Providence's garden clubs of the 1970s – the Nassau Garden Club, the Carver Garden Club, the International Garden Club, and the Y.W.C.A. Garden Club.
