Hibiscus, known as choeblack or rose kayenn in Haitian Creole, is Haiti's national flower. The fragrant hibiscus attracts hummingbirds and butterflies, and apart from being beautiful, the hibiscus also has medicinal properties and culinary applications. Some cocktails and teas served in Haiti include choeblack in their recipes.
