A Passing Thought is a song that explores the thought process of someone who is considering taking their own life. It is an amalgamation of experiences people close to me have had over the years with suicidal ideation and tries to highlight the process of thought that one may have when considering this. The resolution is the song’s title, A Passing Thought, reminding anyone who may be struggling with these feelings that they can view them as merely a passing thought, and not thoughts that must lead to action. The worth of a soul is infinitely precious and we all need to be reminded that no matter how difficult life may be at times, the world is a better place with us in it because we all have value to add. This song is meant to inspire people to take mental health very seriously and be a reminder to all of us to reach out to the people we love frequently and remind them that they are loved and that they have great value.
