Description

Palace #1 was conceived as an interactive VR experience in which a second life is depicted as a continuous journey through archaic ruins and futuristic environments. In this work, gaming, digital art, and VR combine to create an innovative sensory world in which the protagonist begins a journey next to a monolithic sculpture, engraved with the images of gods, that sucks him into a flooded city, illuminated by neon lights and moonlight. It is unclear whether the protagonist is a survivor from a previous world of discovery or a new life form born out of this primordial environment. The mystery is what keeps us engaged in the layers of exploration of “Palace 1,” an endless journey of portals and worlds, of possibilities and of unanswered questions. It is a world inhabited with symbols of life and death, the terrestrial and the heavenly and where nature and culture, history and technology are in a constant state of battle and resignation.
