Description
Back with SB23 #2 I introduced the idea of “street portraits” in the forrest, as I find myself walking trails more often than cities these days. This is both by choice and circumstance, though there’s more similarities than you might imagine. In the same way being surrounded strangers can force you to consider how lonely you feel, dense nature exploding with life can give you interesting perspectives, and I’m always looking for those visual representations. I’ve continued to take make these “portraits” of characters I find in the woods, to try and tell this story and explain this feeling. Recently I’ve started thinking of these images as more of a series and a collection on their own, and wondering how they might look paired, exhibited together or bound in a book. So that’s an idea that will take more shape in the coming months for sure.
The other day I came across this bolder on a path I hadn’t taken before, and sure pareidolia or whatever, but it definitely made me stop and feel something. This is a definite inclusion in the series but one I didn’t want to keep hidden until then. A small screen doesn’t do it justice, I recommend looking at it as large as possible.
