GAWD’s 141st release ‘WHAT THE FVCK DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?’ fully embraces abstract typography painting, a technique in which letters and words are layered repeatedly until an abstract form emerges. Drawing on graffiti and asemic art, this work is an exercise in catharsis exploring the unspoken words, ideas, and feelings that pervade our individual experiences and intersect our mutual existence. A 1/1 work minted only on the Ethereum Blockchain (Foundation Platform), May 2024. 3600x5400, 32 bit, 300 dpi png file (28.9mb). Created in Procreate. GAWD’s bold, brash art combines typography, design, and painting in a collision of pop, punk, and social commentary.
