Description
Winona was born to a small tribe of river fishermen on the edge of the kingdom. As a child, she was always playing in the river and helping her father and brothers fish. She was a natural at it and soon became known as the best fisherman in the tribe. When she was sixteen, her father died and she took over as head of the family. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family, but no matter how hard she tried, they always seemed to be just barely getting by. One winter, the river froze over and they were unable to fish. Winona did everything she could think of to try to bring in food for her family, but nothing worked. They were slowly starving to death. In desperation, Winona prayed to the river goddess for help. The goddess appeared to her in a dream and showed her where to find a hidden cache of food that would last them through the winter. Winona was able to save her family with this food and they were all very grateful. After that, Winona's skills with a fishing rod were legendary. People would come from all over to hire her for their fishing trips. She became quite wealthy and used her money to help her tribe prosper. She built them a new village near the kingdom and made sure everyone had enough food and shelter. She was hailed as a hero and lived a long and happy life surrounded by those she loved.
