Crap Memes is an artist’s light-hearted reaction to the NFT and Web3 space. It celebrates and gently pokes fun at meme coins and PFPs. Think of it as a slightly rubbish idea generator for your next mint or shitcoin. Crap Memes is also inspired by Opensea’s wildly successful ‘Get Based’ campaign - so it’s on Base, affordable and rich in meme content. Crap Memes is the brainchild of British artist, King Overman. He couldn’t resist having some fun with the NFT world- the bad art and copycat projects, the joyless ideas and self-promotion. Crap Memes is a reaction to all of this. The characters are hand-drawn on paper (badly) and mix random and surreal humour with a few classic memes such as Big Chungus, frogs and Karens. The collection contains 3069 unique PFPs. Each one having it’s own three word name, which is also conveniently hand-written on the artwork itself.Backing up King Overman is Compatible Creative. They are a UK based agency led by Sebastian Markiewicz, enabling artists and musicians to become involved in the web3 space.
