Description
This work is a study of perspective and precision on the human face. The sharp lines, floating spheres and pink pillars were all painted to look 2-dimensional when photographed at the right angle. Painting crips lines on the human face is one of the most challenging skills for a makeup artist and this work is my best example of that.
Face Cards is a collection of 24 hand painted makeup art self portraits by Laurel Charleston, released as collectible editions on the ethereum blockchain.
The 200 editions live on a custom ERC-1155 smart contract owned and operated by Laurel.
The makeup looks in this collection continue to redefined the beauty industry, pushing the limits of what makeup can achieve.
