Since April 2022, we've been involved in an artistic venture named Symbolic CITEES. While creating this collection, we intricately designed over 900 layers, categorized into 15 attributes, to produce 1850 artworks. The two members of Anemale have spent 16 months on this project to design a customized setup, ensuring that each layer could be inserted with complete control, eliminating any random factor.
Our efforts combined diverse creative abilities, blending techniques, skills, and experiences. Each assembly was thoughtfully curated for artistic coherence, with pre-assembled elements positioned using software to introduce specific effects in designated spots. The layers varied in number, from 4 to over 10 in the most intricate compositions. Unlike traditional rarity-based criteria, our goal was distinct: to tell stories where each element, whether protagonist or backdrop, held symbolic significance. Furthermore, more than ten 1/1 works grace this collection. We've fashioned over 1850 Symbolic CITEES, drawing inspiration from cinema, history, science, technology, mythology, fantasy, video games, and esteemed artists like Yves Klein, Dali, Cocteau, Burton, Chagall, Miyazaki, Matisse, and Gericault.
All layers were crafted from scratch, developed from 3D sculptures, drawings, and photos, resulting in a style that melds futurism, mysticism, organic forms, and technology. These Citees have been our creative outlet for over a year, adopting diverse rhythms and never succumbing to pressure for validation. We've explored various materials and effects to diversify styles, spanning from abstract to surrealism, from dreamy touches to stark contrasts and even apocalyptic themes. Collectors are invited to connect with the symbolism and narratives of their acquired works, as each layer carries a specific name and corresponding symbol, detailed on our website.
Our imagination roamed free to create fantastical realms where dreams, fears, personal feelings, and societal critiques converged. At times, we adopted roles akin to oracles, mediums, and psychoanalysts, seeking parallel dimensions, time portals, lost worlds, or extraterrestrial existence to incorporate into our reality at specific junctures. Our intent is not mere figurative or decorative art; meticulous attention is given to the aesthetics and symbolism of each work. Nothing is left to chance. We aim to immerse collectors deeply within each work, facilitating their ownership and understanding of the messages we convey.
This collection also serves as a platform for sharing encounters and experiences from two years in the crypto art space. We've paid tribute to fellow artists we've engaged with and incorporated CC0 references to honor their contributions. References to cinema, music, pop culture, psyche, blockchain, and gaming further enrich our Citees. Ultimately, the Citees embody an artistic universe conceived by the mind and hand of anemale. A mystical connection reportedly forms between the collector and anemale during the minting process, resulting in a unique creation for the collector. Each Citee possesses a soul, requiring collectors to decode the intricate layers to fully grasp the work and its symbolism.
