Description
the notion of a "lesser evil" has always been a tactic to move to goal post and make more and more evil things seem acceptable. to normalize worse and worse evils by convincing people to capitulate to and even defend a supposed "lesser evil" for fear of another supposedly worse evil rather than fighting for the greater good. ultimately what was once seen as an intolerable greater evil is now simply called "the lesser evil".
