Description
The rabbit hole is the path of involvement which a viewer travels by navigating from topic to topic while looking at the painting. The metaphor of a hole comes from Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, in which Alice begins an adventure by following the White Rabbit into his burrow.
