Description
There are some views that need to be experienced to be believed. Five years ago, I solo hiked Sgùrr na Strì (which is Scots Gaelic for "Peak of Strife"... a fitting name) on a dreary Fall day. All told, I was out in there in the wilds of the Isle of Skye for thirteen hours, passing barely a dozen people the entire day. It was perfect, and no photos I took can explain what it was like, though this one comes close.
I'm sitting here today, having completed forty revolutions around our planet's star, wondering what new experiences lie before me, over that next hill, just beyond the horizons of space and time... Thinking about all the beautiful places I've been to, and all the fascinating people I've met, and all the challenging situations I've gotten to experience... And I'm grateful.
