Description
Pressed Pause is an expression of presence.
It is a hybrid motion work which gives the viewer the opportunity to choose how they would like to view the composition; live-running animation or still. The paused state is the pre-selected beginning. Behind the still image, each piece continues to advance in constant motion.
The viewer can decide whether to reveal the already-running motion or keep it still, unaware of the changes taking place in the background. Through a simple interaction of pressing and holding (via touchscreen, keyboard, mouse, or a gamepad button), the viewer can resume or pause the piece.
