How curious they all were to see, walking through the leaves and sticks, a little stranger. They talked among themselves and decided to ask a question but before they could the little stranger smiled and sat very near. This was unexpected. They all moved closer, wondering at the who and where of things. All was very quiet, which was their favourite kind of all. The little stranger seemed tired from walking and so took a nap in the soft leaves. The forest friends wondered at their sleeping stranger, smiling. They thought the smile might be magic as it made all the quietness glow. They decided that together they would use some flowers to make a special little hat for their new friend to wear. They were sure that the visitor was a friend and they were always right about these things, particularly Jim who had the hat idea. Then they waited for their friend to awake, so they might share the hat.
