Or not - maybe we have never experienced anything like what we are seeing, but it makes us think and feel the same as the characters in the story. It can be a powerful empathy exercise.
Talking about shared feelings, images, and the sense of unity they can give us, it is worth noting that filmmaking is a creative outlet that involves several people. Without their joint vision, a film wouldn’t be as layered with meaning and complexity as it usually is.
