Description
Chromesthesia is an ongoing project in which artist Jaime Derringer takes her own original drawings, AI generated imagery, and fractal creations and runs them through various applications multiple times until they are deconstructed into glitchy abstractions. She uses a MIDI controller, a device typically used for making music, to manipulate some of the features of the artwork in real time during the deconstruction process.
Derringer takes screenshots during the process, which is video-based, and curates the best compositions out of hundreds—sometimes thousands—of screenshots. The unused images are often then put back into the mix of imagery that she uses to build upon for the next series.
