Gaea Morgana was born to a family of witches who resided in the forest outside of the small town of Daggerford. From a young age, Gaea was fascinated by the power her mother and aunts wielded and would often sneak off into the woods to practice her own magic. When she was thirteen, her parents were killed by a band of thieves who raided their cottage. Gaea was able to get away and fled to Daggerford. With no where else to go, Gaea turned to the town healer, who took her in and taught her the ways of herbs and healing. While she did not have the magical power of her family, Gaea proved to be a quick learner and an expert in healing. It was during this time that she also began to develop feelings for one of the local farmers, Aidan. Aidan was betrothed to another woman but Gaea didn’t give up hope that one day he would be hers. When Aidan’s fiancee fell ill with a mysterious disease, Gaea used her skills as a healer to try and save her. But no matter what she did, the woman died. It was then that Gaea realized that she had been cursed by another witch – one who was jealous of her relationship with Aidan. Gathering all of her strength, Gaea confronted the witch and fought back against her dark magic. She emerged victorious and as a result of her heroic deed, gained notoriety throughout Daggerford. Finally free from the curse, Gaea and Aidan were able marry each other and live happily ever after.
