Remove the sea from my memories, and my childhood fades away with it.
For the first twenty-one summers on Earth, my days began with the sound and scent of the Mediterranean. I'd open my eyes just a few steps away from the sea, in a small coastal village — my grandfather's legacy.
While a lot of time has passed, so have many people I remember from my childhood, the sea's essence remained unchanged, almost defying the passage of time itself. However, paradoxically, nothing mirrors the passing of time more profoundly than the ocean's ebb and flow.
In fishing villages, the prolonged absence of a boat from water speaks of a fisherman's final voyage. I chanced upon one such boat — a canvas of nature, tattooed by the ocean, untouched by human hands for years. A few photographs became the seed of this collection. Through music, composed for this collection, I’ve explored audio-generative art patterns, giving these artful ocean creatures a new (digital) life.
