Despite being an Oil rich state the country seems to be plagued by the resource curse the part of the country with the most oil suffers from environmental pollution & poverty or at least the common people do. This is just one of the many issues and a catalyst for many other issues plaguing this beautiful Nation. A product that should be one of the major sources of revenue has turned out to be a way to burn profit, some economists argue that removing the fuel subsidy abruptly could lead to a worse level of poverty, an increase in prices of essentials & inflation. This year the Sovereign state budget reflects more funds going into subsidising fuel than to education, health care and welfare combined.
